WXMaxima & Maxima CL Dont Work

When trying to use wxmaxima i encounter this error: "Maxima started. Waiting for connection..."
When i try to use the Maxima CL i encounter "Maxima is unable to set up the help system, directory name is invalid". I have attached screenshots of both of these errors.
Current version: maxima-5.38.1

Your Maxima version is a snapshot build (not a release, as seen in the 5.38.1_5_gitcommit_dirty) - and your wxMaxima version is historic. 16.04.2 is from 2016!

Please try the current release - e.g. the combined Maxima/wxMaxima Windows installer from:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/maxima/files/Maxima-Windows/5.49.0-Windows/
