Supporting libhandy

libhandy is basically the proto-libadwaita for gtk3. unfortunately they make thorough use of automatic cleanup macros so it would take some patching to get it to a state where it would compile on vs
i would be willing to give this a shot but i wanna make sure that something like that would be ok for this project since the patch would probably have to touch almost every .c file

Hi @ouwou - yup that sounds good. We try hard to push changes upstream as much as possible, but we can carry patches if that isn't an option. libadwaita also can't be built on Windows without patching out all the AppStream support.

makes sense, but libhandy seems kinda dead so it seems unlikely a change of this nature would get merged let alone make it into a new version (which according to one maintainer "will likely never happen")
