Extremely long pages can't be captured.

Attempting to capture an extremely long page correctly scrolls all the way to the bottom from the top, but otherwise fails to even attempt to save an image.

No specific public URL, i was looking at a particularly long comment section somewhere.

Some googling brings up websites designed to be obscenely long, like www.onemilescroll.com, but some quick 30 second testing reveals them to take way more time than i'm willing to spend.

Alternatively, commenting on this issue until it gets long enough to break is an option, albeit a possibly spammy one. Would give more specifics on exactly when it breaks, though.

Some more details: Normally the icon has a handy progress indicator, which refuses to show up after such a long scroll.

I tried on reddit with infinite scroll and you're right it does break.

I suspect it's because what the code does is capture the screenshot as base64, scrolls to the next position and repeats, then finally stitches it together before sending.

Something must be happening with the canvas - perhaps it's too big.

It would be great if they had a method to capture the whole tab and not just the visible area, but that's an old gripe.

An odd thing i noticed during my own testing is that the image width decreases as height gets too large. My screen resolution is normally 1366x768, but a particularly long tab is now producing images of 820x16763.

Any workarounds? Maybe detect if it's too big and stitch it together earlier, then a new image to continue where it left off?(or stitch it onto the first?)
