Outputting a mesh

is there a way to obtain a GMSH file as output rather than a png file?

Hi Marti, no there isn't, unfortunately. It shouldn't be that difficult to implement, you can look at visualisation.py. There's already some "boiler plate" in there; by combining the methods in the 2d PNG output with the MSH creation. Don't know if you feel up to it? 😉
