I tried to follow the damn directions, when i went to enable the accessibility options it warned me, turned it on, then immediately turned it right off.. several times, on android TV

i tried to go back, and then the config options screen was showing, and it locked up

i gave it 5 minutes and it just kept redrawing the settings

so i pulled the plug to retstart it, now its soft locked i guess, it never boots, it just keeps reshowing the boot screen and i guess failing and retarting

why would the app hijack everything if it can already detect it isn't properly setup?

why does the setup screen lock up? why did the permissions NOT set when i tried over and over..

This is 100% guaranteed not a side effect of MATVT. As long as you installed apk from the release page, this can NEVER happen.
The app does not hijack input by hooking into any of the system functionality, which is why it's highly dependent on android versions and all the resulting bugs.

The only softlocking that happens is when you are not able to use remote for input. It is fixable by using another input device such as physical mouse or keyboard (there are numerous people who have done this successfully - #100 (comment), #96 (comment)).

If you are 100% sure the cause of problem is MATVT, I believe you have some malware on your device. You can inspect the code / get it done by someone else and don't have to take my word for it, but there is no situation where you go into a bootloop. I have specifically avoided including any binaries that would bypass system settings.

Also, if you are trying to give feedback, it'll be helpful to specify which steps you had an issue with. Does not help to say the app is incompetent and irresponsible. App is not hijacking anything. The app doesn't even start until after the system boots properly.

In this scenario, you seem to be the only one who managed to brick your device with MATVT. Knowing more details about this will help improve the app.

this was on an Onn 4k Plus, i don't remember any more details other than what i explained before, i had to re-install the whole system, didn't install the mouse emulator again this time obviously. i have moved on, maybe it is a device specific issue, several other permissions issues exist on this system. (you can't toggle permissions from installers often, have to go separately after the fact to toggle them, and sometimes they still untoggle for unknown reasons. Maybe warn people of these Onn 4k devices about issues (they all have the same quirks)
