Are you behind a proxy?
If so, have you tried the insecure mode in StockD's advanced settings?

Also, please upload a log file along with StockD version and link profile that you're using. It'll help me understand the situation better. Can't analyze anything without more information.

I am not using proxy server. ... As the program is not starting at all, I cannot set any settings. Its giving the error immediately.

The statement you shared means application is unable to send requests or recieve responses from NSE.

This usually happens when your firewall is blocking the app, or you're behind a proxy which is rejecting requests from stockd.

Pls try disabling / making an exception in your firewall software. Also pls tell the StockD version and OS version that you're using.

I'm not sure what issue you're facing. Seems to be working well for me.
Please read the user guide on link profiles and try a different one if one server doesn't work for you.
