Hi Torum, Many thanks for coming back to me. As I mentioned earlier it's
not a major thing, the most important thing is that the app works really
well and sounds great when playing off the sd cards. Unlike other MPD apps
I tried (unsuccessfully), MPDCtrl worked "straight out of the box" as soon
as I had entered the 2GO IP address - always a good sign! I'll have a play
around with it based on your suggestions. Thanks again, Dave

I've never heard of 2GO until now. Quick look up did not tell me what
version of MPD is included. So everything is a guess work.
There are a couple of reasons why Artworks wouldn't show up in MPDCtrl.
One reason is that the artwork image size is too big. I forgot the exact
file size limit, but I think it is big enough. so it shouldn't be a problem
in most cases. Second is that MPD version is too old (before MPD protocol
version 0.22.0) to read artwork from a media file using media tags like ID3
tag. In that case, you have to place "Folder.jpg" or "cover.jpg" or
something in the folder where the media file exists. And make sure to turn
off MPDCtrl's option "Use readpicture command instead of albumart command".
Hope this helps.

Hi Torum, just a quick note to say that the latest version (4?) of MPDCtrl
installed itself last night. I was a bit surprised at first but I've had a
play with it and its brilliant - even better than before. Thank you for the
upgrade. I still have no artwork but it doesn't matter, I've got Musicbee
as my main library (its what I started with) with all the artwork, and I'm
not technical enough to understand how to resolve it in MPDCtrl. Anyway,
its brilliant, cheers, Dave

Hi Torum, I'm really sorry to bother you again, I am sure you are very
busy. I just have an observation about version 4 - it also sounds better, a
lot better! It was good in the last version, but the latest version has
lifted a veil, greater clarity and space in the music, I'm amazed! I don't
understand this - I assumed that MPDCtrl client was just a control for the
server, I assumed the MPD server was entirely responsible for how music was
retrieved. I'm not imagining the improvement, it is very evident,
particularly in complex music.
If you have a moment can you explain why this is? I should say I haven't
changed anything in my system.
Kind regards, David

I'm using MPDCtrl with a Chord Electronics 2GO and it works really well when the 2GO acts as a server with micro sd cards installed - its about the only app that does work well with the 2GO that isn't Roon! There is one slight problem - I can't see the artwork even though I know the sd cards hold the artwork as well as the music files. I've ticked the boxes in MPDCtrl to enable artwork, but nothing. This isn't a major problem, I'm just glad it works so well after much frustration with other MPD apps, but if there is a simple fix it would complete the setup. Thank you for a really nice app!
