Documentation update - editors are making PRs for each step in the editorial process

Editors don't push to main, they use the PR for each editorial step to move things forward.

One idiosyncrasy we noted last week (during a test merge) was that issues linked to PRs automatically close when the PR is merged. This means that issues on the editorial board tracking chapter progress "close" every time one of the PRs linked to them get finalized and merged (that is—every time and editorial pass completes, the issue gets closed, rather than simply moved to the next column on the board, and must be manually re-opened). So what is more of an annoyance then? Having to re-open an issue after it's been closed automatically OR not show the PR (and any other sequential PRS linked to the issue) on the editorial board?

My preference would be to not see the PR on the editorial board. PRs get linked inside the issue conversation area if they mention the relevant issue, and (for me, anyway) that's enough to keep things straight. But I am flexible and happy to default to what others wish.
