⚠️ Spotify Update Issue — Ad Detection Not Working in Mutify?

What’s Happening?

Spotify has started rolling out a new update that disables the "Device Broadcast Status" feature for some users.

This feature is essential for Mutify to detect when ads are playing. Without it, Mutify may not work as expected, especially in automatically detecting and muting ads.

🧪 How to Check If You’re Affected

  1. Open Spotify on your device.
  2. Go to: Settings > Device Broadcast Status
  3. If the option is missing or disabled and cannot be toggled, your app is likely affected by the update.

✅ What You Can Do

Option 1: Don’t Update Spotify

If Mutify is working perfectly for you, we recommend you avoid updating Spotify.

Option 2: Revert to an Older Spotify Version

If ad detection has already stopped for you:

  1. Uninstall your current version of Spotify.
  2. Download an older version (prior to the update) from a trusted site like:
  3. Install the APK.
  4. Open Spotify and check that:
    • Device Broadcast Status is available and enabled in Spotify settings.

⚠️ Note: Installing APKs from external sources can carry risks. Use only trusted and secure sites.

🔄 We’re Working On It

We’re already working on a new version of Mutify that doesn’t rely on this setting.

This means Mutify will continue working smoothly—even if Spotify removes this feature completely.

Stay tuned for updates via the app, GitHub.
