Feature Request: Video Quality Setting

(Local) Video Quality Setting is missing in the settings

You can set quality settings in Kodi's InputStream Adaptive's settings.

You can set the resolution and bitrate settings there.

I had no idea it relies on InpuStream Adaptive. What if InpuStream Adaptive not installed? I think YouTube addon allows to play 1080p videos naively, it would be nice to have something similar too.

The YouTube addon also relies on InputStream Adaptive to play videos.

If InputStream Adaptive is not installed and enabled, the Piped addon won’t be able to play videos.

Presently, the Piped addon can play any resolution (1080p, 4K…) and frame rate (60, 30, 25... fps) supported by Kodi.

But you can disable InputStream Adaptive in YouTube addon settings and still play videos with maximum resolution 1080p

YouTube servers can provides videos in two forms:

• Full video file (up to a certain quality)
• Chunks of a few seconds each

I only implemented the chunks variant, because it allows full quality playback, faster resume and offers more flexibility (audio languages...).

I could add the option to use full video files in the future.
