Add read markers in the form of avatar bubbles

As Relay is already circular avatars next to messages from senders, I would like to see the same avatars shrunk down and stacked up as read markers. I find read markers very useful and I think something iMessage is missing in groups.

Element X has this implemented and I think they did a decent job with it.

Ahh yes, the read markers. I've been mentally debating this feature. I don't personally care for it that much. I think it can introduce a lot of UI noise, so this might be the start of my true app Settings where behavior gets controlled by UserDefaults.

You know, that's actually a great point. Maybe the simple, iMessage-like design of Relay also means that read markers are not necessary

Having a possibility to see who read the messages would be nice. Taking the inspiration from other applications, a simple visualization in form of ticks besides the message would work for example.

Taking the UX from Telegram/WhatsApp/Signal: A clock indicating that the message was not received by the homeserver (indicating maybe issues), one tick for having the homeserver received the message, and two ticks if at least one person has read the message.
Combining with a menu entry for the messages to look up who has read this message and the timeline, this should be minimal but functional enough?
