In this tutorial you will get familiar with the core functionality of the oneMoreSecret app.
Please make sure that you have turned on biometrics in your Android device. Go to your phone settings, search for fingerprint and set your biometric preferences to fingerprint.
For desktop version, continue with Step 3. For mobile version, continue with Step 5.
You will generate your own Private Key in omsCompanion. We have prepared a sample key for this tutorial. To import it, please open the app and scan the following QR code sequence:
The transport password for the key is we are all mad here
DECRYPT and SAVE the key - it will be stored in your phone's key store.
Now it is time to decrypt a secret message.
Here it is:
- The app will ask for your fingerprint and decrypt the message.
- You can reveal the message with the switch on top of the screen.
- In case you want to type the message to your PC, please refer to the autotype section.
The mobile integration works in two ways. The first one is a specific link integrated into the HTML page.
If you are reading this on your smartphone, you can import the private key from above by clicking here.
And this is the secret message.
Your private password database will be text based though. The text representation of our encrypted message is:

Just select this text on your phone and share it with OneMoreSecret (alternatively, you can use the clipboard of your smartphone).
Congratulations, you have successfully decrypted your first message! 🎉
Now it's time to generate a new password.
Go back to the QR scanner screen and choose Password Generator from the menu.
You can activate or disable different character classes, adjust length, generate other suggestions with 🪄 or edit the password manually. Once done, press and hold the key entry under Encrypt With - this will put your password into an encryption envelope.
Whether encrypted or not, you can copy it to the clipboard, send it to another Android app or type via Bluetooth.
If you now want to delete the test key or create your own, please follow from the QR scanner screen to Private Keys.
