Right now, in order to attach a native "broker" to the cluster events in master, a connection needs to be created (but not connected), in master. This is undocumented, and should probably be more explicit. Its an asymtery in the API between the adapters, but not too much of one - someone has to run a broker, its just done externally to node for rabbit and activemq.
