When trying to record a video with two screen or one screen and one window the process crashes

I made many test and i came to the conclusion that the fact that one monitor is HDR and not the other is not the issue
I have the same issue in DD and WGC
Doing screenshots instead of video recording works fine

Hi! I think this is an issue with the video encoder on your system, and may be related to a pending Windows update, or you may need to update graphics drivers and restart the computer. The issue happens because the pixel size is larger when you record two screens, which i believe makes the encoder error out due to lack of system resources. From experience, it's usually Windows update...

Hey, i did not have any window update pending, i'm on the latest nvidia graphics drivers. I'm on windows insider dev channel tough. I got an update today and i retried and made sure everything was up to date etc, unfortunately I still get the exact same issue. As I said screenshot are working fine and my system is fully up to date

My guess is still it's something with Windows, like Windows update lurking in the background.. I just tested a 7280x2560 video that recorded just fine, both with GPU encoding and CPU encoding. I have encountered the issue previously, and it has always been Windows at fault. The Nvidia encoder itself should handle it no problem.

This may be another factor but i just restarted my pc, everything is clear etc so...
I want to point out that I have one horizontal monitor and one vertical, one has hdr and not the other (even tough disabling the hdr on the hdr one did not fixed the issue). Is there a way to get a little bit more debug infos because it might be windows update but in my case i realy don't see it. I will try with another pc but if i still have the issue there must be smth else or idk

Unfortunately i don't think so. This is the very generic error returned when initializing the encoder. You can test by just recording anything, like a window, and manually setting the output video size to 4880x2560. It should return the same error if it's the encoder.

Okay yes I get the same error. This is wierd
