Deprecation Notice: Satellite demo servers shutting down end of February 2026

The following demo satellite servers and their domains will be shut down at the end of February 2026:

• https://versatiles-satellite.b-cdn.net
• https://icarus.versatiles.org

Migration

A drop-in replacement is available at https://tiles.versatiles.org/. The only change is the domain and the tile source path:

• old: https://versatiles-satellite.b-cdn.net/tiles/orthophotos/
• new: https://tiles.versatiles.org/tiles/satellite/

You can use the new satellite styles directly:

• only satellite/orthoimagery: https://tiles.versatiles.org/assets/styles/satellite/nooverlay.json
• satellite/orthoimagery + OSM overlay: https://tiles.versatiles.org/assets/styles/satellite/style.json

Style configuration

We also added a style.json generator if you want to use your own style:

1. Open https://tiles.versatiles.org/#style=satellite
2. Edit the style on the left panel (e.g. disable the OSM overlay under Satellite options)
3. Export the configured style as style.json or as JavaScript code (under Export at the bottom of the sidebar)
