Refresh ROMs

The option to refresh existing ROMs in version 3 is no longer available. After updating miyoogamelist.xml, the changes are not applied to the game list.

He's talking about the actual option to refresh roms is missing now. The option used to be in the main screen if you press the menu button it had an option to refresh roms.

@dre10g yes, because we have switched to a whole new frontend that no longer requires explicit refreshing of ROMs, because they are not cached in the same way. That's why Sun was investigating possible reasons why they would even need such a function

That’s no longer a part of spruce because we no longer use the Miyoo MainUI

Our UI only looks like it but it’s completely different (written in Python)

I believe @GumUsado has a different issue entirely that I want to help address

Actually, the problem I have is different, but I thought it was due to not being able to refresh the ROMs.

I was using the same .xml files that worked in the previous version, but when I saw that they weren't working and that I couldn't refresh them, I tried creating new ones directly from the Spruce app.
The thing is, when I use the “Miyoo Gamelist” application to generate the miyoogamelist.xml files, it doesn't map all of them. I think it may be due to the file extension; at first glance, it only detects .cue files in PS. When I use my previous .xml file, it ignores the names of the .bin files. The same thing happens with PS, NeoGeo, SNES, NGPC, and MAME03+.

I am attaching the miyoogamelist-v4.xml that the spruce app automatically generates and the miyoogamelist-v3.xml that I used in the previous version. It's possible that I'm doing it wrong.

Hello @Sundownersport , and thank you for your reply. When I delete the old app and install this new one, the names remain unchanged when I open the console. If I try to open the app from Spruce, the screen goes black and returns to the previous screen without any effect.

Dang it your right, I didn’t test this on the A30 before I sent it to you. It works on the tsps for sure. We are looking into why it’s not working on a30 now

Hello @Sundownersport , now works and the generation process is much faster, but the problem seems to persist. It still does not convert all the names. Similarly, if I paste the previous .xml that worked in version 3, not all the games in the .xml are displayed with the changed name.

We have a few more changes coming to this xml generator next release

I don’t believe we are going to get the old xml from 3.3.2 to work we have simply changed so much I didn’t think that was what you even wanted to fix with this Issue.

I am sending you some screenshots of the folders and their contents. I am sending you a version with only two of the games that give an error, one can be seen and the other cannot. The folder is the PS1 (PS) folder. I have many more games, but I have sent you just the two that show the error. One can be seen with the modified name and the other cannot. I added the red manually, as the process does not generate it.

Ahhhhh I think I know the issue!

It’s because it’s .BIN instead of .bin
