Plotting settings restarted after the filter is changed

I noticed that the plot is refreshed every time the filter is changed. And it makes sense to update the data itself. I wonder if there is any way to store the selected variable and refresh the data with the previously chosen variables. For example, if I choose to plot int_r vs NORMALIZED_INTERFACE, can these variables be the default for plotting, until someone changes it?
