I presume your on a Mac . You can run windows 11 using UTM.

It will run the windows 11 arm64 gui in a virtual desktop system .

I use it to desk my gui stuff that relies on windows . I git clone on windows , build and test , or let Claude test with its screenshot tooling.

Might help you get the windows installer working better …

Thanks a lot for the tip! You’re right - I haven’t touched Windows for many years, so contributions on the Windows installer are especially appreciated. In fact, any kind of help with improving the project is always very welcome.

One concern I have is about code signing. On macOS, unsigned binaries trigger security warnings and require users to manually add exceptions. I wonder if Windows works the same way - do developers need a paid Microsoft subscription to sign executables, or users can skip this step fairly easily?

In any case, having an installer (even without code signing for now) would already make the setup experience much smoother for Windows users. I’m not sure how many people run MCPProxy on Windows today, so maybe I’m worrying too much about this at the moment – but your input here would be really valuable.

I’ve added a Windows installer in the latest version v0.9.29. I don’t have certificates to mark it as trusted yet; this will be addressed soon.
