Design guidelines

Following on from #14, I think there is a larger problem; a lack of design guidelines for the Skycons.

I think it would be a great idea if a few of us consumers liaised with some of the designers who have generated SVGs for this project; this way, we could formalise a process for rendering optimal assets that would promote consistency and avoid the need to occasionally tweak icon offsets.

Would anyone be interested in this?

What we could do as a first step, now that #14 is under way, is write some of those SVG generation guidelines as part of the Contributing Guidelines we already have.
It may not be the final version, but it could be a god starting point.

@jamesseanwright do you have any idea about the size of the canvas on which are drawn the icons that you have updated as part of #18 ?

The current canvas sizes vary. There seems to a propensity to using an A4-esque aspect ratio, but some of the icons have a canvas that is perfectly-sized for the vector. Currently, the font normalisation will accommodate both of these cases as long as the icons are top-left aligned with regards to the former.

By having a consistent canvas size, we can ensure that normalisation produces glyphs that are relatively sized correctly.
