Bug: Icons are not centered in canvas

Currently, the icons in the preview canvas are not perfectly centered:

well, the icons are drawn at the center of the canvas (indicated by the rather large crosshair), but the icons themselves don't seem to be designed to be centered. Maybe it has something to do with the icons being drawn as a text character.
