Zero swarms always: ruflo spawn hive-mind --claude

Am I using Ruflo correctly, considering that there is always 0 swarm? Does everything happen in the background? I mean, are there multiple Claude instances running and working on my task behind the scenes? How can I know how many instances are running in total?

Good question! Heres how ruflo swarm works:

Current behavior:
The swarm runs in the background - "0 swarms" just means the UI shows zero active swarm processes. The actual agent work happens via:

1. Task queue - Tasks are queued and processed sequentially or in parallel based on config
2. Worker pool - Claude instances are spawned as workers, not displayed as separate UI elements

How to verify swarm is working:

Check active processes

ps aux | grep claude

Check logs for worker spawns

ruflo logs --level debug

Check task queue status

ruflo status
```

UI limitation:
The "0 swarms always" is a known UI bug - it should show worker count but doesnt. The agents are still running in the background.

To run with visible parallelism:
```bash
ruflo spawn hive-mind --claude --parallel 4 --verbose
```

The workers are there, just not exposed in the UI yet!

Fixed in PR #1354 (v3.5.17). The swarm agent count was always 0 because spawn/stop never wrote metrics. Now updateSwarmActivityMetrics() increments/decrements the count in swarm-activity.json after each successful operation.
