Description
In Inter, the Unicode character U+2042, the asterism mark, is made up of three eight-pointed stars rather than the more typical six pointed stars. Because of this, when the character is printed at small sizes, rather than a proper set of three asterisks, it instead appears as a set of three mid-sized dots. This effect is even more pronounced when the character is bolded.
Because of both this and the fact that it does not stylistically match the standard asterisk, (U+002A) the character does not appear consistent with the rest of the font and is practically unusable, making it preferable for typographers to use the asterism of a different font in a piece that otherwise uses Inter.
