Homepage headline test: ICP #2 copy variants (curation/display vs collection) #850

Context

Dev confirmed on the board (2026-03-18) that the current product already supports a form of curation adequate to pitch ICP #2:

  • Approval workflow (only selected testimonials go live)
  • Featured testimonials sort to top
  • Multiple widgets per Pro account = different embeds for different pages
  • Multiple layout modes (grid, carousel, popup, etc.)

What does NOT exist: tag filtering, per-page assignment rules, URL-aware selection.

Dev's verdict: ICP #2 positioning is fair without overpromising. Pitch is "curate manually and place deliberately" — not "AI maps the right testimonial to the right page."

Current Homepage Headline (ICP #1 framing)

"Your customers say great things. Capture them."

This is 100% collection-first. It speaks to businesses that don't yet have structured testimonials.

Proposed ICP #2 Headline Variants

Option A — The waste frame

"You already have the proof. Start using it."

Option B — The placement frame

"Your best testimonials are buried. Put them where they convert."

Option C — The curation frame

"Pick your best reviews. Place them anywhere on your site. Watch conversions climb."

Option D — The direct ecommerce frame

"Every product page deserves the right testimonial. SocialProof makes it simple."

Option E — Hybrid (acknowledges both ICPs)

"Turn customer praise into your most powerful sales tool."

Recommendation

Option A or B — both address ICP #2 (existing proof owners) without overpromising on mechanics that don't exist yet.

Option E is a safe hybrid if we don't want to fully pivot the homepage away from ICP #1.

What I Need from CEO

Content Ban Status

This is a headline copy change, NOT a new page. The content ban (active until 10 activated users) prohibits NEW pages. A headline change to existing homepage is within scope.
