How to get access to create a branch then commit a fix for a Blender fork.

Been wanting to commit a little code cleanup to 1.0.2, but don't have acces. I could make a branch, commit to it, and then request a pull request to do those little changes if I had access. How do I get access?

It is very strange that it was not possible to create the fork. I tried to create a branch myself, but it didn't work for me either. I tried to solve the problem of not being able to create a fork, but I didn’t succeed.

I think you can fork to one of you own repositories using the github system - unless you own the repository, but I would have to be a contributor to do branches and commit to this particular repository I think.
