server exits immediately

just installed, configured and run. message:
debug: Initializing Mongoose configs debug: Initializing Models configs debug: Initializing Passport configs debug: Initializing Express configs debug: Initializing Routes configs info: Server is running app=Express API server, hostname=127.0.0.1, port=3000, environment=development, url=http://localhost:3000
Then server exits with no other info...
Any suggestion?

Did you try creating a environment config for the logger?

$ touch config/winston/environments/developer.js

Try to add the following, maybe you don't have permission to create files on the disk from node,js

// in config/winston/environments/developer.js
module.exports = envTransports;

function envTransports(winston) {
  return [
    new winston.transports.Console(),
  ];
}

I had the same issue because mongod was not reachable. I see you already tried it, but maybe it has another cause. Not running with proficient privileges for instance. If you haven't tried it yet; try running it as root.
