Omnievent supports sqlite through some of its concrete types at the moment. This is working nicely at our scale, but if we want to scale up e.g. omnievent into its own horizontally scaled service, sharing a sqlite db file doesn't make sense, and having separate state per instance could lead to confusing data inconsistencies
