programmatic invocation

Nice library! I'm bailing on knex's migration system and considering moving to this. One problem I'm having is that your main file doesn't export anything, so there is no way to run migrations programmatically (in a test suite, for example). Would you accept a PR for this?

@tkellen I'm also considering switching, I was able to access the API via:

var careen = require('careen/lib/command');
console.log(careen);

Although this should ideally just be exported. 👍

Thanks for your interest in this tool! I think the reason I didn't export anything from the main module is because I didn't want to define a public interface at the time.

If people want to use it in this way, then I think that does need to happen, with documentation. I'll try to find the time to do this soon (I'd also of course accept a PR, but it would be hard to write documentation for software one didn't write). Until then, I think accessing the internals how @tbranyen did is the best thing to do.

Currently switching from Knex to Careen... would definitely be nice to have programmatic invocation - having to use require('child_process').exec is horrible.

Something like this would be great:

var config = require('./careen.js');
var careen = require('careen')(config);
careen.apply()
  .then(() => careen.revert())
  .then(() => careen.create('new-migration', { split: true }));
