Downgrade to previous UI when using latest prisma

I understand a total remake comes with a lot of pros and cons, so I do not want to come off as dismissive or negative, but there are a lot of things that I have come to love with the old UI that I am missing now, such as

• table search
• highlighting of changed columns with explicit save
• open related tables, pre-filtered in new tab
• explicit save
• dark mode
• columns not being auto sorted by name
• browser tab title so I can see what tab studio is running on
• per-column filters being easier to apply (less clicks)

All-in-all, for me - the old UI was better, and I would love to use it with the latest version of prisma if possible, but I do not know how since studio comes bundled with prisma

Is this possible, or would I have to downgrade prisma?

I agree with all of the above. I liked the fact that Prisma Studio was coupled to my schema and therefore could do stuff other db viewers couldn't do (like, on a single row I was able to see all relations and their count).

Now, I feel like it's trying to be a more "classic" db viewer (e.g: showing relations tables), but it's less good than pgadmin or dbeaver at that, so it's loosing its appeal in my opinion...

The most annoying part for me is that when you have a column which has long data i.e. an image, you have to scroll all-day to to other columns! it's really annoying!!!

Like how on earth can you scroll this whole thing!!!! We need to revert to the old UI. it was better!100%

Would be nice to get a comment on this from the team. Again, I don't want to discredit the hard work on the new UI, but subjectively - and I would argue objectively - the old UI had a lot better UX design in many regards, as previously mentioned.

Prisma is an amazing tool, and we’ve been on the enterprise plan from day one. This Studio change feels rushed, and it’s a downgrade. The old UI was significantly more capable. At the very least, there should be an option to keep using it.

It also feels like the recent direction has leaned heavily toward monetization over product depth. Which I understand, but if the goal is stronger enterprise adoption/paying customers, the focus should be on leveling up Prisma itself query capabilities, better escape hatches, stronger support, and tools like Studio. Right now, this move feels like a step backward.

OP was way too nice you guys. I don't have any issues with being negative or dismissive of your joke update to the UI.

Removing darkmode is fucking asenine and it leaves me with zero desire to suffer through any additional UI changes implemented by your amateur team of code monkeys. I will just avoid you for ANY services in the future and will actively avoid Prisma anything, including Prisma ORM.

This robbed me of any confidence I have in your competence as developers.

I understand v0.01 not supporting dark mode. But you ACTUALLY fucking removed it after previously supporting it.

How dumb can you get? I cannot imagine what kind of idiotic conversation could have possibly led to this incredibly stupid outcome.

Whichever idiot thought this was a good idea needs to be fired.

Thank you for the feedback. We have addressed most of those over the past month, and they are available in the latest dev release.

Of the specific issues mentioned, this is where we stand:

• table search -> now exists
• highlighting of changed columns with explicit save -> you can now edit multiple cells and commit them in a single transaction

• dark mode -> exists through cmd+k command palette and adhering to system setting by default
• columns not being auto sorted by name
