Describe the bug

Chrome DevTools shows a deprecation warning H1UserAgentFontSizeInSection originating from the Plausible analytics script.

This appears under DevTools → Issues → "Uses deprecated APIs".

Expected behavior

No deprecation warnings from the Plausible analytics script. Deprecated APIs should be replaced with modern alternatives to ensure long-term browser compatibility.

The warning itself is given when a website has an h1 inside <section>, <aside>, <nav>, or <article> tag with no specified font-size.

Lighthouse will flag a warning if <h1> is used without a specified font-size and is nested in <section>, <article>, <nav>, or <aside>. The Lighthouse deprecation warning to look out for is H1UserAgentFontSizeInSection. Hints for dealing with this are described in the next section.

As far as I can tell, this seems unrelated to Plausible and I don't know why lighthouse would show our script as the source of it. But it seems like the fix needs to happen in your website's markup and styling, not in our script.

I had another look now, and Lighthouse is no longer reporting this on our website. We haven't fixed it on the website either, so I have no idea what's changed. 🤷🏼‍♂️
