Rust's extended standard library.
Rust's current biggest problem is its anemic standard library which leads not only to a very fragmented ecosystem with multiples competing packages (so you end up with 10 different libraries to handle time and dates) but also to high supply chain risks (see Rust has a HUGE supply chain security problem).
This is why we are leading the way to create Rust's extended standard library which should provide all the packages for the most-common usecases.
Our goal is that stdx uses only code from std and stdx. No third-party imports, no supply chain risks.
A second, temporary, goal is to reduce supply-chain risks by forking the most-used libraries so developers can use the patch feature of cargo to pull their dependencies from a single trusted source instead of 300 different developers who may not have the time to think about security.
