Feature: ignore white space changes for diffs

Proposal

like github has in diff view ignore white space changes, would be great to have such option/mode

Motivation and context

when change nests a big chunk of code with white space ignoring in diff you see clear intent of change instead of having to scan the full indented chunk

It's not quite as simple as a checkbox, however there are some configurations you can use to render diffs that ignore whitespace.

If you've got the old/new versions of the file, you can pass in a config option of ignoreWhitespace: true to: parseDiffFromFile:

As well as pass through a parseDiffOptions config object to MultiDiffFile's option prop. You'll need to be on 1.1.10 to have these features btw.

Outside of this, you can also generate patch files manually with git that ignore whitespace
