Steals mouse focus from application

Trying the latest commit 12/06/2025. When running an application that uses Xwayland the mouse will not click inside the application. The mouse cursors are the wlmaker cursers instead of the applications. Is there a way to turn off cursors or prevent wlmaker from taking over focus?

nevermind, it appears another application was interferring with the affected application so not sure if its a wlmaker or wayland issue, will try to get more information. closing for now til I get more details.

wlmaker's XWayland support is not very well tested; so it's easily possible something is amiss there. If you find you can reproduce it, please provide much detail (eg. which application doesn't work, etc). Thanks!

Thanks for quick reply! It´s definitely a Wlmaker Xwayland issue. I proved that by removing --start_xwayland with wlmaker and instead used xwayland-run command to start my X11 applications (which then worked fine). It doesn´t seem to matter what X11 application is being used, Just multiple X11 applications started will cause focus to be lost on one of more of them. If difficult to isolate, you could recommend as Niri does, to use xwayland-run instead of built-in since it seems to work pretty good and keeps the code more isolated.

@netfun81 -- I have tried to reproduce, by running 2 xterm instances, on wlmaker with --start_xwayland. Focus appears to work as expected, between the xterm and the wayland terminal (foot).

Can you help me better understand? It might be more specific to the particular X11 application you're using?

Sorry late getting back to you, I had to leave wlmaker for some time due to no copy/paste support. I noticed copy/paste support was added recently so trying the latest commit. It appears the window stealing focus issue is gone, so whatever was causing it seems to have been resolved. The built in Xwayland support is now working for me. Can mark this as closed if you like.
