Code of Conduct

Our Pledge

We, as contributors and maintainers of WireTapper, pledge to foster an open, respectful, and inclusive community.
We are committed to making participation in this project a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of experience level, background, or identity.

This project focuses on Wireless OSINT and Signal Intelligence. All collaboration must remain ethical, lawful, and responsible.


Our Standards

Examples of behavior that contribute to a positive environment include:

  • Using welcoming, respectful, and professional language
  • Being considerate of differing viewpoints and experiences
  • Giving and accepting constructive feedback gracefully
  • Focusing on what is best for the community and the project
  • Acting responsibly when discussing security, OSINT, or surveillance topics

Examples of unacceptable behavior include:

  • Harassment, discrimination, or hateful language of any kind
  • Personal attacks, trolling, or deliberately disruptive behavior
  • Publishing private or sensitive information without consent
  • Encouraging illegal activity, misuse of surveillance tools, or unethical practices
  • Any behavior that could reasonably be considered harmful to others

Security & Ethical Use Notice

WireTapper is an OSINT and Signal Intelligence platform intended for:

  • Research
  • Defensive security
  • Education
  • Situational awareness

Misuse of this project for illegal surveillance, stalking, or privacy violations is strictly against this Code of Conduct and will not be tolerated.


Enforcement Responsibilities

Project maintainers are responsible for clarifying and enforcing this Code of Conduct.
They have the right to remove, edit, or reject contributions, issues, comments, or commits that violate these guidelines.


Scope

This Code of Conduct applies within all project spaces, including:

  • GitHub repositories
  • Issues and pull requests
  • Discussions and comments
  • Any official communication channels related to WireTapper

It also applies when an individual is representing the project in public spaces.


Enforcement

Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported by contacting the project maintainer.

All complaints will be reviewed and investigated fairly and confidentially.

Maintainers may take appropriate action, including:

  • Warning the contributor
  • Temporary or permanent ban from the project
  • Removal of content or access
