<h1 id="epigenomics-in-crops">Epigenomics in crops</h1>
<p>I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Springer Lab at the University of Minnesota.</p>
<p>The guiding paradigm for my research is understanding the contribution of epigenetics to heritable phenotypic variation in crop plants. Epigenetics refers to the heritable transmission of information that is not solely due to DNA sequence. My goal is to understand the role of epigenetics in trait variation in plants and learning when, how and why epigenetic traits (“epialleles”) can be passed through cell divisions to daughter cells or across generations.</p>

</h3>

A mobile visual clothing search system is presented whereby a smart phone user can either choose a social networking image or capture a new photo of a person wearing clothing of interest and search for similar clothing in a large cloud-based ecommerce database. The phone’s GPS location is used to re-rank results by retail store location, to inform the user of local stores where similar clothing items can be tried on.
