Map Mod works in 1.16.9 but not 1.17

I made a map, it works in 1.16.9, but doesn't work in any 1.17 version. Not sure what broke but something did

There's a few things I need to patch for 1.17 to not have as many errors

I read elsewhere that apparently having the newest Hoi4 DLC enabled causes crashes.
For me without the DLC, it works, just has more errors and no coal

From what I can read, I'm guessing that some of the issues are about the new doctrine mechanic, but I suppose you already addressed that since it doesn't require DLCs.

Other stuff such as:

Most likely reference the prototype vehicules? Not 100% sure tho.

Which according to the reviews need specific countries to show up, and given that they don't exist it might cause some issues, unsure how to address that...

Update 1: It does work with all DLCs enabled except NCNS, I'll try to run it with only this DLC enabled to potencially filter out other errors.

Update 2: If I had to guess, I'd say it probably crashes because of the PRC border wars.

Hey, thanks for your inputs! You can find the link to the discord in the release's README file :)
I still don't own the newest DLC, but I fixed most of the errors that I could see in 1.17 in the newest version that I just released.
Feel free to try it out and see if it works now. If it doesn't, I might have to buy the DLC.

It still doesn't work with NCNS, and as you can see in the following log, the errors still seem related to some border wars:

Also, the focus tree folder seems completely missing.

I have the same errors in the log without crashes. This is why this bug is so hard to fix, I have yet to understand it. What could potentially help is the last_read in the crash folders meta.yml, that appears when use crash_data_log as a launch option.

Regarding the focus folder: I have temporarily removed focus tree generation. The system is too barebones at the moment to produce something nice, the alternative I currently recommend is using a generic focus tree mod that causes the AI to actually start wars.
As a next step, I am considering having a good generic focus tree template, that I could extend with procedural generation using the system I built.
Also potentially some generic event/decision chains that randomly add flavour to countries.

Lastly, the link should be in the README.txt in the release folder together with the executable, not in the repo's readme.md :)
