In CE code, there is a functionality that allows the user to restore projects or files from history snapshots, similar to overleaf.com. This feature has been available in CE for a long time. In practice, it appears to work reliably and without visible issues, but it is still in experimental stage and is not enabled by default. It is also possible that not all users are aware of this functionality in CE.
Are there any plans to remove the experimental status from this feature and enable it by default?
Currently, restoring from history is only available for projects created after the feature was enabled. Attempting to restore a snapshot in older projects results in an error. Is there any way to convert or migrate the history of projects created before the feature was introduced so that they can also support restoring from history snapshots? If such migration is not possible, is this due to technical limitations or simply because it has not been implemented yet?
