But this work needs to be funded, because we can't expect people to work for free. After all, the whole point of the Open Source Endowment is to fund critical infrastructure. We build the infrastructure that funds the critical infrastructure. People working on this meta-infrastructure should be compensated too, otherwise Endowment technology won't be sustainable!
To this end, we should:
- Look out for ways to use Endowment funds to finance research
- Look out for external grants that we can apply for, or assist community members in applying for
