Copilot no longer responding the comments on PR. This was working fine until about 18 hours ago, roughly midnight UTC time. Now when I @copilot in a comment on a PR it no longer picks up the comment. Also, submitting a Requested Changes on the PR doesn't work anymore for Copilot.

I've been using this since day 1 and never had any issues until now. Did something change? Feels like a bug to me. Anyone else having this issue?

I am having the same issue on my enterprise account from a different computer, repro, everything. Seems like this is a widespread issue

Seems to be working now on my personal and work accounts. Not sure if it's fixed, or I just got lucky

In case it helps anyone, GitHub "improved" the PR experience:

"In response to user feedback, we’ve updated Copilot so it will only respond and make changes when explicitly mentioned with @copilot in a comment by someone with write access to the repository.

This means that:

You can leave notes and thoughts in pull request comments without Copilot interpreting them as commands.
Others can leave feedback on Copilot’s pull request, but you get the final say on what changes are implemented.

You need to make a NEW comment with copilot tagged. Editing an existing comment doesn't work.

Would have been nice to announce this wider than a blog post...

Tagging Copilot also works for me. It is not enough to write Copilot, you have to use @copilot

It was working as expected for me until yesterday, now I'm seeing the same as described from July of last year at the top of this thread.

Yeah same. Also when creating new sessions or commenting directly inside them, they just stay queued for eternity. Was working fine until yesterday/today.

Sometimes using @copilot works, sometimes github just ignores it, even when deleting the entire comment and trying again. No session is up and running at the same time to confuse it either - getting to be a bit frustrating at times TBH. It should pick up the mention EVERYTIME, not when it feels like it.

I have a huge branch (100's files) / PR (conversation shows over 300) in a private repo, which made sense to do in my specific case. copilot stopped responding recently, unless I went directly to the agent session. It also started saying things like it didn't have the right permissions to make comments, which seemed a bit silly. Copilot is still at least giving the 👀-s on another, much lighter branch/PR.

I have the same issue today. It stopped checking comments all of a sudden, in a middle of a small PR.

Go make a coffee, come back, delete the comment, and try again.

It starts working again after some time, just very annoying when it happens.

Yeah, this seems like an inference / overage issue in capacity, not sure much we can do about it aside from fallbacks if you're doing it automated.

Yes, sending "Respond to the comments on the PR" as a chat message to the agent sorted the situation out for me

I was stuck in the same situation as you. Sending "Respond to the comments on the PR" as a chat message to the agent in the "Agents" tab triggered it to read and action my comments on the PR

Looks like a service-side regression or event processing delay with Copilot PR integrations. If @copilot mentions and “Requested Changes” workflows stopped working at the same time for something that previously worked, it usually means the webhook/background listener handling PR comments is failing or delayed.

I am also facing this issue today. Luckily it is responding when the code is reviewed and you select request changes and tag copilot in it.
