Marker-Popups often misplaced

The popups, that can be configured to be shown when you hover over a marker, are often misplaced. Instead of being shown close to the marker, it is shown far below. Often outside the map and if the map is towards the bottom of the panel even outside the visible browser window.

In the following screenshot the mouse pointer (not captured) is directly over the marker, but the popup is far below and not completely visible.

It does not happen all the time, but often. The logic behind placing the popup is not obvious to me.

Is this a bug or can the position of the popup be configured in any way?

I did some more test and here is another example

Here everything is fine. The popup is close to the marker (blue triangle) and easily visible.

No I have moved the other Orchestra City Map (with the orange circle as marker) above the map with the blue triangle without touching the map with the blue triangle.

Suddenly the popup is show far down from the marker and even outside the visible area.

Something seem to be wrong with algorithm to calculate the popup position!
