Missing definition for narrowerThan

Under 9.4. ParameterGroup Objects, we find the member narrowerThan in the examples. However, we couldn't find a definition.

This is a fair point - in fact the semantics around describing statistical measures in general are not fully defined. Hopefully this is something that can be borrowed from elsewhere - are there any vocabs that will help (e.g. UncertML)? I don't know what the state of the art is around this.

@jonblower @KathiSchleidt None of the usual dictionary definitions seem enough, but how about the USA Library of Congress definition:

`A narrower term reference is made to a given subject heading from the next broader heading so that terms are arranged in a hierarchy.'

Some examples are given that include the following relationships which are considered hierarchical:
• Class/class member or instance;
• Whole/part.

The definitions of narrower and broader at the W3C SKOS Primer in section 2.3.1 are similar.

The SKOS gives the nearest syntax to "narrowerThan" using skos: narrower

So, do we:

1. Leave as is?
2. Add some explanatory text for the theoretical example?
3. Delete the two lines contining narrowerThan?
4. Use the skos:narrower syntax?

Or do something else?

Agreed to Option 3: delete the references to narrowerThan and also the other undefined attribute (statisticalMeasure, statisticalPeriod ) at 2025--8-20 meeting.
