Feature Description

Many universities and institutions rely on PDFs for important course content. Currently, in Open edX, there’s no built-in way to display PDFs directly in a course.

We plan to introduce an official, supported PDF embed feature so institutions no longer need to install different plug-ins to make it work.

@kdmccormick The proposal is accepted, but the work isn't finished yet. The PDF block has been added to the base install, but one element of the proposal, the one where we improve the file upload handling, isn't finished. That PR is in progress here and hopefully will be ready for review in the next few days.
