ctrl+ shortcuts don't work with jquery 1.7.1

Hello,

I tried to update jquery from 1.4.2 to 1.7.1 and all my ctrl+[some letter] shortcuts broke (defaut behavior of the browser). This in Firefox and Chrome (latest versions).

Reverting to 1.4.2 solved all.

I do confirm the problem after more tests. Even while I had more or less the same problem with 1.4.2, when I tried to use the type "keypress". Reverting to "keydown" (default) solved this.

I don't know if I should open one more issue on this, but I still have one problem: using "ctrl+d" as a shorcut works fine in Chrome but propagate (after doing what I want) in Firefox.
