Web API availability?

Hi there!

What a great tool. It's so great to be able to find an association of Steam ID w/ HTLB id.

I was wondering if there was a way to open up some of this data via an endpoint?

My use case would involve sending a steam id (or even better yet, an IGDB id, to cover the many games not on steam), and you'd respond with the HLTB id.

Would that sort of thing be possible?

The data is already open via an endpoint (the site is a SPA):

If you look at the Network tab in the dev tools of your browser (or sniff via a tool such as Fiddler), you'll see the URIs you can call (no authentication needed). I don't have an API for your exact use case, but I believe you could manage with the existing ones:

1. Get all Steam/HLTB associations for a Steam account:
   • https://www.howlongtobeatsteam.com/api/games/library/{accountName}
   • Example: curl https://www.howlongtobeatsteam.com/api/games/library/ohad188
2. Get all stored Steam/HLTB associations:
   • https://www.howlongtobeatsteam.com/api/games/library/cached/all
   • Example: curl https://www.howlongtobeatsteam.com/api/games/library/cached/all

The response will be a JSON with all the information the site contains.

My goal with an endpoint was to cut down the filesize a bit. My library is 119KB, but the "all" json is 24MB. That's the raw output though, so I can probably slim it to just the data I want and get a similar result.

Ultimately, an endpoint would be good so I don't have to fetch all the data to get info about games I don't own on Steam yet. But like I said, I can deal.

I'll keep this open in case one day I or someone else get to it.

In the meantime, if you have a server component, you can just periodically call the "all" endpoint from there and expose whatever API you need...

For me, the "all" endpoint return an error, is it normal?
