Cannot install DirectX 9 on Win98QE Micro

I installed win98qi_v0.9.6_micro_directx81.iso in a virtual machine (VMware Workstation 17.5.2) and the system boots just fine, but i can't install any directx 9 redistribution. I get the error "A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted." and the installation won't even start.
How can i fix this?

stumbled with same problem on a real pc, strange that some files, like DPLAY.DLL that Need For Speed Special Edition (the 1st one) needs it (and some other dx files) and they arent in this iso installed, so I went to install DX9.0C and encountered this problem. Hope a new Win98qi is released soon.

Yep it turns out the fix I added in the last image was incomplete, I will rebuild the images for 0.9.7

Hi! Any news on when this fix would be integrated and/or a new release? Been happily waiting for a new release of win98qi for some months... No pressure, but I know Im not the only one, its a great project! Also some bugs ported on Phils Computer Lab video maybe could be fixed also? Thanks!

Yep 0.9.7 is in the works and will have some extra fixes including this one. I'm looking at a release roughly at the start of August, depending on when I get the time
