Implment configurable HTTP timeout

It would be helpful to be able to configure the time out on the HTTP post, as right now it is just default to infinity, so if there’s a bad connection in the code will just freeze. Would be good to be able to specify a certain number of retries and then drop the packet.

Seems like there might be another issue buried somewhere in here. I modified the code to be able to configure the timeout and this works about 60% of the time. It tries to post, hits the timeout, and then returns Error 56 (timeout), but about half the time it takes longer (5-10 seconds it varies) and returns Error 59 (loss of network connection). Any ideas?
