The Internet of Things (IoT) market has grown to over $1 trillion, with smart consumer devices becoming increasingly common in homes. This growth raises important research questions about security, privacy, and network performance.

The IoT Lab replicates home broadband networks in a laboratory setting to study these issues. The lab hosts a variety of IoT devices with an isolated, dedicated internet connection. Students and researchers can experiment with network traffic datasets, apply machine learning techniques, and develop new applications. Single board computers enable traffic monitoring and security research across all connected devices.
