Our new game level is called "Winter." We currently have a snowman enemy and replaced the flying goomba. Our group are split into pairs: Soni and Varnika, Spencer and Kailyn, and finally Pranav and Derek.

Spencer and Kailyn: Collision Code and Smooth Movement of Player
Currently, the two are working on smoothing the collision with the platforms. When the player moves, it increases the velocity which then gradually increases and then slows down when the key no longer is being pressed. So the player still moves when the keys aren't pressed. This requires a new form of collision to prevent the character from moving into the walls based on the value of the x velocity and y velocity. We now have smoother jump animations in which the player jumps in a parabola and moves when two keys are clicked at the same time.

Soni and Varnika: Background Movement and Snowfall
Currently, the two of us working on making the background move with the player, allowing for the effect of movement. Mr. Morteson has edited the updateParallex code for us so it is easer for us to implement our new background code without completely breaking the game. We are having minor issues with syncing the main repository with our branch, hence we don't have the new code yet. We also have plans to add snow fall, similar to the cloud background movement in the background.

Derek and Pranav:
We have added the base for a new level, including new sprites for enemies, new block platforms, new obstacles for the level which correspond to the theme. We are currently working on adding a ending obstacle similar to the tube and tree, but we are experiencing problems with centering the character while falling into the cabin. Mr. Mortensen has also told us to move away from the Player.js file and use Playerbase.js. We plan on reorganizing our level into Playerwinter.js. We are also planning to change the character sprite to something winter themed, the monkey sprite is just a place holder.
