Feature Request - ORB discovery with Switch Stacks.

Please add the ability for the ORB agent to recognize Switch stacks, and parse to proper Virtual hosts.

I have a stack of 2 switches, and to rack them, I have them as individual devices, but ORB sees them as only 1 device. I created a virtual Stack, and assigned both physical switches to it.

The only way to get the mappings properly is to add a 3rd device, the one ORB discovers, but running cables gets really confusing.

1. Each switch has its own IP/access point or it is a single ssh/connection?
2. which device model/vendor are you using? So we can try to reproduce the scenario here.

Good afternoon Leonardo, Sorry for the delay, I was out on the US Chistmas break. 1. Each switch has its own IP/access point or it is a single ssh/connection? Each Switch combination has a Single ip address for management (the entire stack) with a single SSH connection. 2. which device model/vendor are you using? All of the devices are Cisco Manufactured. I will try to give a complete description below. Since I have opened the request, with specific information in the request, I will try to break down the configurations that I am trying to get to work with ORB. I currently have 2 stacks of switches. Stack one (the Core) is a pair of Catalyst 3850 switches. WS-C3850-12XS This is the core of the network. Single IP address to SSH to the stack. (99.1) This stack is configured to Mirror interfaces (i.e. Port channel for redundancy) TGE 1/0/12 goes to TGE 1/0/1 on The 2960x stack and TGE 2/0/12 goes to TGE 3/0/1 on the 2960x stack The 2nd stack is a set of 3 Catalyst 2960x switches. WS-C2960X-48FPD-L Single Ip address to SSH into the stack (99.13) This is the main demark for the majority of the connections to the rest of the network. I can send Configs if that would help. I found another oddity in the ORB collector that might be part of the problem with a switch stack.

I ran a Dry-Run with device discovery back end, and found out from looking at the output files, that both of the stack switches are only pulling 1 serial number, and assigning it to all the interfaces. in the ssh_config_file.
