[looking for maintainers] Bare metal install on DietPi Trixie fails

Is there an existing issue for this?

• I have searched the existing open and closed issues and I checked the docs https://jokob-sk.github.io/NetAlertX/

The issue occurs in the following browsers. Select at least 2.

• Firefox
• Chrome
• Edge
• Safari (unsupported) - PRs welcome
• N/A - This is an issue with the backend

Current Behavior

The bare metal installation script install.debian.sh fails with various dependency issues (php8.2 ??) when executed as root in a fresh install of DietPi v9.16 (Trixie).

I appreciate the bare metal installation is 'experimental' and only tested on Debian Bookworm, but I thought the attached screenshot might help in preparing for Trixie installs.//

Expected Behavior

Ideally should install NetAlertX and start the web service.

The dev version now have the previous Debian 12 installer and a Ubuntu 24 installer.
Maybe you could attempt to use the Ubuntu24 installer and see if that runs and if it runs any better, you could push a Debian 13 installer?
If I have lots of time, I might spin up a Trixie container and do a Debian 13 installer. But that might take a few days or weeks ;-)

EDIT: Won't happen soon, as Debian 13.1 is not yet supported in ProxMox.

It is. There is also an official 13.1 template now.

I'm actually in the processes of trying this out and was going to try it on 13. I will do my best to document and make a new script.

The deb12 scripts didn't quite get all the required dependencies. (php, nginx...)

Install it and be disappointed. Only 13.0 is supported. The supplied 13.1 template cannot be installed. :-(

Did you download the new lxc template? lt installed fine for me.

I'm mostly done with the script updates, but not sure if I'll get time to finish before Monday. I put what I have in a repo.

I'd recommend using docker where possible. I think hardware installs, especially ARMv7 hardware, will be going away. It's just not maintainable to package for each operating system and hardware configuration.
