Hi Yuri,

are you compiling with GCC? Clang compilation on FreeBSD is broken at this point.

(There is some unresolved multi-threaded issue with Clang+libc++)

I compiled with clang-19 and didn't encounter any compilation issues.

Compiling with clang does generate executables, without any warnings. But these executables are unfortunately not correct. At this point in time, MUMmer MUST be compiled with gcc.

As mentioned above, there is an unresolved multi-threaded issue with clang on BSD, and the programs generated by clang have incomplete and inconsistent output (which breaks testing). Surprisingly, clang on Linux does not have this issue, which is why I did not notice it in my testing before releasing version 4.

I will fix that problem, but it may take a bit of time. In the mean time, it would be beneficial (for science!) if the package distributed by FreeBSD is compiled with GCC and does generate correct output.
